Architecture Suspended Within a Living Canopy
Designed by SDH Studio Architecture + Design, Casa Levita expresses a refined vision of contemporary tropical living—one where architecture, landscape, and lifestyle exist in effortless harmony. Through sculptural structural gestures, layered vegetation, and a carefully restrained material palette, the residence creates an atmosphere of relaxed luxury deeply connected to nature.

Floating Volumes and Architectural Lightness
The architecture unfolds as a composition of bold structural forms softened by cascading greenery and organic textures. Horizontal planes stretch outward while sculptural vertical supports anchor the composition, creating a dynamic interplay of balance and lightness.

Tiered volumes appear to float above the surrounding gardens, giving the home a sense of levitation within the landscape. Generous cantilevers and extended rooflines further emphasize this effect, creating sheltered terraces and shaded outdoor rooms.

“Our intention was to create architecture that feels both strong and weightless,” the design team explains. “The structure is expressive, but it remains softened by vegetation and natural materials.”

A Material Palette Rooted in Nature
Warm wood, soft limestone, and textured concrete define the material language of the house. This restrained palette anchors the contemporary architecture within its natural surroundings while allowing daylight and shadow to become active design elements throughout the day.

Expansive glazing stretches across the façade, dissolving the boundary between interior spaces and the lush landscape beyond.

“The materials were chosen to age gracefully and to harmonize with the tropical setting,” the architects note. “They allow the architecture to feel grounded yet refined.”

A Calm and Ceremonial Arrival
The approach to Casa Levita is defined by a tranquil water feature that guides visitors toward the entrance. A floating walkway glides above the reflective surface, establishing a sense of quiet anticipation before arriving at the front door.

This carefully choreographed arrival sequence sets the tone for the home’s atmosphere of calm elegance.
“We wanted the experience of arrival to feel meditative,” the architects share. “The water, the movement, and the reflections slow the pace before entering the home.”

Seamless Indoor–Outdoor Living
Inside, luminous living spaces unfold with fluid continuity. Large glass walls retract completely, allowing the interior social areas to merge with terraces, gardens, and shaded lounges.

The architecture encourages an open lifestyle where boundaries dissolve and nature remains constantly present. Views of layered vegetation frame nearly every space, reinforcing a continuous dialogue between interior comfort and outdoor beauty.

“Transparency was essential to the design,” the team explains. “We wanted the house to breathe with the landscape.”

A Vertical Garden Canopy
One of the most distinctive features of Casa Levita is the lush system of integrated planters that wrap around each level of the home. These verdant layers form a living canopy that softens the home’s linear geometry while extending the garden vertically.

Anchored by a sculptural structural column, upper levels project outward through carefully calculated cantilevers, creating panoramic vantage points and sheltered outdoor environments.
“The greenery becomes part of the architecture itself,” the architects note. “It transforms the house into a living structure rather than a static object.”
