This project transforms a contemporary countryside residence into a serene sanctuary designed for a dynamic and sociable family. Featuring an opulent spa building, a spacious BBQ area, an indoor-outdoor terrace, and an expansive swimming pool, this retreat embodies the essence of luxury, wellness, and sustainability.

Seamless Integration of Luxury and Nature

Set within a vast property, the Luxury Home Spa Retreat merges the client’s passion for holistic living and eco-conscious design. Inspired by the homeowner’s background in scientific research and his commitment to sustainability, Studio Anqet has curated a design that fosters relaxation while minimizing environmental impact. Floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall glazing, ambient lighting, and biophilic landscaping ensure a harmonious connection between architecture and nature.

“Our goal was to create a space that encourages relaxation and promotes wellbeing,” shared the lead designer from Studio Anqet in an interview with Luxury Houses Magazine. “Every element, from the materials used to the layout of spaces, was chosen to enhance both physical and mental rejuvenation.”

The expansive swimming pool, featuring a central planter, acts as the focal point of the retreat, seamlessly connecting to a BBQ area with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and custom sunken seating zones.

At the heart of the outdoor area stands an awe-inspiring polished bronze, aluminum, and steel sculpture by renowned artist Lorenzo Quinn. This dramatic centerpiece is visible from the pool and every glazed outdoor structure, adding an artistic dimension to the space.

A Commitment to Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Innovation

Sustainability is at the core of the project, with a focus on ethically sourced and energy-efficient materials. Studio Anqet carefully selected:

• Silver Quartz (Honed) water feature tiles from Island Stone, a responsibly harvested natural material.
• Millboard composite wood decking, a sustainable blend of recycled wood and plastic, requiring no annual chemical treatment.
• Low-wattage LED lighting by Lucande Habsa and Catellani & Smith, creating dramatic yet energy-efficient landscape illumination.

To further minimize environmental impact, the estate incorporates:

• An air source heat pump to power the swimming pool and hot tub.
• 45 solar panels, generating an estimated 3,500 kW of energy per year, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and energy costs.
