Designed by JK Designs Architects, the residence embraces the landscape rather than resisting it, appearing almost sculpted directly into the terrain.
Strong geometric volumes, deep overhangs, and carefully articulated structural lines give the house a commanding presence while maintaining an understated elegance. The composition balances architectural clarity with natural warmth, creating a silhouette that feels contemporary yet grounded.
“Our intention was to design a home that belongs to the mountain,” explains the design team at JK Designs Architects. “The architecture had to respond to the terrain with both confidence and restraint.”

Architecture Shaped by Terrain and Light
The residence steps naturally along the slope of the site, forming a series of tiered living spaces that follow the mountain’s contours. This approach allows each level of the home to capture uninterrupted views of the surrounding valley and distant peaks.
Deep roof overhangs protect the interiors from harsh sunlight while also creating dramatic shadow lines across the façade. These layered shadows soften the bold geometry of the building, giving the structure a rhythmic presence that evolves throughout the day.
“Light and shadow are integral to the architecture,” the architects note. “They transform the building continuously as the sun moves across the mountain landscape.”
