A Masterpiece in Geometry and Ligh
Perched gracefully on a sloped rectangular lot within the exclusive Vista Country Club, Vista Clara by Fernando Cibrian Arquitectos redefines luxury architecture as an artistic and emotional journey. The design speaks in bold, intersecting geometries, evoking both serenity and strength. Architect Fernando Cibrian envisioned the home as “a spatial sculpture,” where simple volumes, subtle angles, and negative space work in concert to craft a form that is both dramatic and refined.
In conversation with Luxury Houses Magazine, Cibrian noted, “The challenge was not simply to respect the site’s limitations, but to unlock its poetic potential. Water, light, and materiality became the language of connection between structure and nature.”
Central Axis of Reflection and Flow
The heart of Vista Clara is a meditative water axis, a linear series of water mirrors that begins at the entry and threads through the home, connecting exterior and interior in seamless fluidity. The central “water spring” becomes a spatial landmark—reflected in full-height tempered glass walls and echoed in cascading weeping walls that lead water down to spa and studio zones. These architectural moves form a choreographed procession from the main entry to the rear floating mirror pool that houses a curated art piece.

“The water isn’t decorative,” the architect elaborated. “It’s narrative. It leads you, frames you, surrounds you. It’s both physical and emotional.”
Luxury Houses attempted to reach the homeowner for insights on their collaboration with Cibrian but did not receive a response. However, the architect confirmed that the residence also functions as a private showroom, reflecting the owner’s passion for art and bespoke craftsmanship.

Interplay of Materials and Light
Natural elements take center stage in Vista Clara’s material palette. Dark, rugged stones contrast against polished wood surfaces, set in a visual rhythm that frames light and shadow play. During the day, vast openings—some double-height—invite natural light deep into the interior, where dark-toned finishes shimmer with reflected brightness. At night, indirect architectural lighting reshapes the house into a cinematic series of illuminated vignettes.

According to Cibrian, “Light here is not a utility—it’s a design partner. It activates textures, expands spaces, and gives emotion to each room.”
Exterior lighting emphasizes mass and texture, while interiors glow warmly with curated art pieces and furnishings. The integration of vibrant natural greens through landscaping and sculptural water features enhances the home’s organic experience.

Interior Volumes and Programmatic Refinement
The interior layout follows a thoughtful zoning approach. Private spaces like the master suite, with panoramic golf course views, contrast with public zones like the double-height living room and dining area. The first level discreetly integrates parking, service rooms, and an entertainment suite—home theater, gym, and spa—hidden behind elegant millwork.

“Every line and threshold in the house was designed to frame moments,” Cibrian told Luxury Houses Magazine. “Whether it’s a glimpse of the golf course or a shaft of morning light through the water axis, we choreographed experience into every zone.”
Living in Context: Community and Code
Vista Clara complies with the Vista Country Club’s strict guidelines—70% sloped roofs, height restrictions, and proximity to the 18th green. Yet, it boldly stands apart from the beige-tiled norm. The home’s volumes cascade down the slope in sculptural elegance, using bold overhangs and cantilevered terraces to maximize views without breaching setbacks.

Local amenities around the gated community offer additional appeal. Residents benefit from proximity to elite golf facilities, fine dining, boutique shopping, and world-class spas—all within a short drive of this high-value real estate enclave.
