Devlin House, located on a captivating promontory lot in the heart of the Hollywood Hills. This extraordinary residence offers a unique oasis featuring an expansive garden space, a captivating pool, and breathtaking views. The design strategically opens up the rear of the house to maximize the stunning vistas, with the master bedroom cantilevered over a remarkable 110’ electronically operable multi-slide door system.

This innovative architectural feat sets a new standard, creating one of the longest unobstructed openings, seamlessly merging the lower level with the garden and terrace. The boundary between indoors and outdoors is redefined, allowing every major space on the lower level to bask in the connection between the terrace, curved infinity edge pool, and the panoramic view.

The steep and hilly terrain of the lot inspired a linear design, ensuring that every angle of the residence captures the spectacular views. A main two-story structure, with the garage discreetly tucked below, unfolds drama from the moment one enters the property. A water garden near the entry sets the tone, leading to the expansive views revealed by the large opening at the back.

The main public spaces, including the living, dining, family and kitchen areas, as well as a game room with a bar and media room, are strategically located on the ground floor for easy access to the garden, terrace, and pool. This thoughtful layout enhances the overall enjoyment of the outdoor spaces. Meanwhile, the upper level houses private and intimate spaces, featuring three auxiliary bedrooms and the master bedroom suite with his and hers bathrooms and closets.

Text by the Architects: Situated on a promontory lot in the Hollywood Hills, this great site presented us a unique opportunity to create a large garden space with a wonderful pool and view. In an attempt to take advantage of the great views, we tried to open up the back of the house as much as possible.
