Architecture Design of Stairway to the Stars House

Description About The Project

Stairway to the Stars House designed by Minarc Group, located in sunny Los Angeles, is a stunning architectural feat inspired by the unique light and colors of its surroundings. From the moment one enters through the monumental 6′ x 14′ pivot wooden door, the home offers a breathtaking unobstructed view through its open layout, extending to an expansive backyard. Large windows throughout the house create a sense of transparency from within while maintaining privacy from the street, thanks to a secret courtyard entryway that seamlessly blends into the wooden façade exterior.

At the heart of the home is a custom-designed three-story staircase by Minarc, which elegantly connects the various levels of the house. This staircase links a basement private movie theatre and discotheque, a guest apartment, and the upper-floor bedrooms and primary bath. The main living space features a deliberate use of space that functions as both clean and homely, ensuring every part of the home is easily accessible and spacious. Unique touches, such as a glass ceiling in the powder room and pantry, contribute to the interconnected yet open feel of the house. The primary bath includes a glass shower room, unattached bath, and matching sinks in pleasing neutral colors, creating an inviting and visually appealing atmosphere.

The exterior of the house showcases Minarc’s creativity and artistry, bringing the outside indoors with a wood-panel façade that wraps under the semi-cantilevered second story and spills into the interior. Six 14′ glass panels slide and disappear into hidden pockets, enhancing the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. An exterior staircase leading to the roof deck offers a poetic touch, symbolizing a stairway to the stars. Combined with well-placed lighting, these elements give the impression that the home floats above the ground, suspended in space, creating a truly magical living experience.
