Nestled within the exclusive enclave of La Reserva Club in Sotogrande, Villa Vela redefines the concept of modern Mediterranean living. Seamlessly integrated into its sloping site, the residence blends sophisticated architecture, expansive indoor-outdoor flow, and panoramic views stretching from the Andalusian hills to the Rock of Gibraltar and the sea beyond.
This architectural gem, set across three levels, comprises five luxurious bedrooms—including a sprawling master suite—and a curated collection of interior and exterior living spaces designed for both intimate family moments and large-scale entertaining.
Architecture That Frames the Landscape
Every element of Villa Vela has been thoughtfully conceived to highlight its privileged location. “The essence of the project lies in how the architecture dialogues with the horizon,” explains Manuel Ruiz Moriche, design director at ARK Architects. “Rather than dominating the site, the villa rests lightly upon it, using geometry and light to anchor it to the Andalusian landscape.”
A key architectural feature is the expansive glazing that opens the interiors toward sweeping vistas of the Mediterranean. Terraces flow gently from living areas, inviting the exterior in and establishing a serene rhythm of transparency and shelter.

Balance of Light, Form, and Luxury
ARK’s vision for Villa Vela goes beyond visual appeal—it’s about how space is experienced. “We focused on creating volumes that evoke calmness while still maintaining a powerful presence,” says Ignacio Laguillo, lead architect of the project. A neutral palette of natural stone, warm wood, and glass is enhanced by soft lighting and tactile finishes that heighten the sensory experience.
Inside, the open-plan layout is anchored by a central axis that allows natural light to penetrate deep into the home. Carefully choreographed views frame distant landscapes, while structural elements like cantilevered roofs and floating staircases express clarity and modernity.
