Old Orchard house designed by Blaze Makoid Architecture is a stunning display of modern architecture and study of linear design to encourage transitional growth. Indeed, the house is a timeless testament to the intersection of modern architecture and masculine features. The original structure was configured as a linear, single story, glass and metal box with grade carved down to basement level at both ends. This provided below-grade access to a garage at one end and a small courtyard for two lower level bedrooms at the other.

The exterior of the home uses concrete, metal, and panels of glass to continue the trends towards the beauty of intersecting lines and planes. In the outdoor courtyard curving natural elements are strongly featured to encourage the eye to take in all that nature has to offer at leisurely pace. Also, floor to ceiling glass panes provide views of the outdoor spaces, including the pool, pool house, and wooded areas. The harmonious friction between the glass and wooden elements provides a welcomed contrast to the beauty of the outdoors. Also, the stunning architectural achievements of the interior of the home.

Indeed, the two story master suite is as spacious as it is warm and inviting. The new home office spans and helps to screen the not so inviting sunken garage drive, provides a more inviting, wood façade during approach. The converted home theater and spa beckon at any time of the year as residents enjoy worldly luxuries while simultaneously viewing nature at its finest.

The Old Orchard House Gallery:

Text by the Architects: One year after purchasing Old Orchard, a 10,000 square foot modern spec house, the homeowners brought on Blaze Makoid Architecture to give the residence a complete redo. The original structure was configured as a linear, single story, glass and metal box with grade carved down to basement level at both ends. This provided below-grade access to a garage at one end. And a small courtyard for two lower level bedrooms at the other.
