Description About The Project

River’s Reach Residence, designed by Strang Architecture, is a stunning waterfront home that embraces an outdoor lifestyle and maximizes the scenic views of the waterway. The strategic placement of outdoor living and dining areas ensures they capture refreshing breezes and offer optimal vistas.

On the other hand, the second floor of the house features vertical ‘fins’ that serve as both shading devices and privacy elements. These fins are cleverly integrated within the structural shell, create a visually striking effect. The design also incorporates impressive spans and cantilevered decks, add to its architectural allure. Situated along Fort Lauderdale’s New River, the residence prioritizes outdoor living, making the most of its waterfront location.

Indeed, this house draws inspiration from the unbuilt Mola residence and pays homage to the pioneering work of Miami architect Rufus Nims. Nims introduced cantilevered concrete slabs to the residential architecture scene in South Florida with his groundbreaking design of the Adler Residence in 1952. This architectural technique was further developed by Alfred Browning Parker. River’s Reach Residence builds upon these design principles, showcasing the enduring relevance of tropical modern design strategies even after five decades.
