A Limited-Edition Masterpiece of Ultra-Modern Living
Hidden within a private Mediterranean bay, The Superhouse by Ström Architects is not just a residence—it is a declaration of ambition, craftsmanship, and architectural purity. Conceived by Magnus Ström, founder of Ström Architects, the Superhouse concept is the architectural equivalent of a superyacht: intensely bespoke, globally rare, and meticulously crafted for the world’s most discerning individuals.
“I asked myself—why do superyachts exist, but superhouses don’t?” said Magnus Ström in his exclusive interview with Luxury Houses Magazine. “That question became a mission—to create the 30 most exceptional houses in the world, with each one a work of art in its own right.”

A Numbered Edition for the Global Elite
This residence, designated S 00/30, is the inaugural prototype of the Superhouse vision. It is part of a strictly limited collection of just 30 homes, each engraved with a unique serial number on its façade—like a signed painting or limited-edition watch. Each home is designed not just as a building, but as a lifestyle manifesto.
“Each Superhouse is tailored as a physical extension of the client’s identity,” explained Ström. “It’s not just about how it looks—it’s about how you live in it, how it functions at the highest level across every detail.”
A Simple Geometry Framing Infinite Horizons
Set on an undisclosed Mediterranean island, S 00/30 is reached by a long mountain road or by private helicopter. Arrival is choreographed through a walled courtyard of local stone, offering both security and a poetic contrast to the openness of the sea beyond.
The home’s composition is minimalist and monumental: two massive L-shaped stone walls cradle the structure, while warm timber volumes are inserted within to define distinct living functions. This architectural clarity allows each material—stone, timber, glass, and water—to speak with sculptural precision.
“The entire house is about control and release,” said the project’s lead designer. “Solid stone anchors you; glass opens you to the horizon; timber warms the touch points. And the water connects it all.”
Programmed for Performance and Privacy
The timber volume on one side houses the service functions, including the kitchen, stores, and staff accommodation. Sliding panels—engineered to disappear into the floor—allow the kitchen and dining room to operate either as a continuous open space or as discreet, private zones for formal entertaining.
The second timber volume is devoted to wellness: a full spa and gym suite that opens to the outdoors through retractable screens, allowing seamless transitions from indoor rituals to sun-drenched leisure. From the spa, a staircase leads directly to the upper-level master suite and four junior suites, maintaining both proximity and privacy.
“It’s a house designed to adapt to rhythm—morning swims, family dinners, private escapes,” said Ström. “Even the architecture knows when to retreat and when to reveal.”

A Vision Beyond Architecture
While the architecture is striking, the vision of The Superhouse extends well beyond structure. The brand curates every detail of the experience—from interior materials and landscape to art placement and integrated technology. The result is a holistic environment, where every surface, sound, and transition has been considered.
“We’re not just designing buildings,” Ström told Luxury Houses Magazine. “We’re designing legacies—permanent works of residential sculpture that can stand alongside the finest yachts, watches, and artworks of our time.”
