Head 1816 House is an open-plan 3-level luxury home, designed by SAOTA, located on the slopes of Upper Fresnaye below Lion’s Head, Cape Town, South Africa. Built for a young family, this four-bedroom house provides luxury with optimal indoor, outdoor connectivity. It reflects bold contemporary lines and extended planes, but the introduction of timber has softened and blurred this distinction. Also, the architectural language takes its cues from a Spanish approach to simple cubic volumes with punctured openings and planar walls that open up to create generous ocean views.

In addition to this, the exertion was put into profiting by perspectives to the back onto Lions Head and crosswise over Sea Point and the Atlantic Seaboard. The layout arrangement is aim to intend the luxurious, amenities but still make the homely feeling. So, the upper-most level obliges the main room, a liberal open-arrangement space comprehensive of a dressing region and en suite lavatory. From the passage a timber staircase gets to the essential living and diversion zone, includes living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The living zones are masterminded to permit seamless association with the patio nursery, secured porch and pool. Level changes, the roof plane and sliding entryways inconspicuously characterize this flexible space. Without a doubt, Head 1816 House is a perfect place for young family to live together while enjoying the stunning views and entertainment.

The main living space opens up to the outdoors, optimizing the coastal views and making the area perfect for entertaining. Also, the siding glass doors and hop in the pool for a swim.

The upper floor houses the private areas of the home, including the bedrooms. The parents wanted close proximity to the young children, as well as being able to close off the upstairs for “family only.”
