Architecture Design of House BMY

Description About The Project

House BMY is a single-storey concrete home designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings rather than dominate them. Gottsmann Architects have crafted this residence to embody a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, creating an ideal sanctuary for a modern family.

The centerpiece of the home is a long, tall passage referred to as the gallery, which both divides and connects various living spaces. Natural light streams in through clerestory windows and a central garden atrium, enhancing the spatial flow. The gallery serves as an artful display for personal art pieces and offers views of the seasonal landscape, fostering a sense of fluidity and connectivity.

The spacious and open layout promotes a welcoming atmosphere, facilitating effortless movement and interaction among family members. The carefully designed floor plan accommodates a range of activities, ensuring both privacy and communal spaces. Large glass sliding doors blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces, creating a seamless integration with the surrounding landscape.

Thoughtfully selected materials, such as polished concrete floors and natural wood accents, add warmth and texture to the spaces. The design seamlessly blends form and function, with architectural elements that create a visually striking façade while serving practical purposes. Concrete was chosen for its robustness, single material application, and ability to weather well, reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

What sets House BMY apart is its commitment to simplicity and efficiency. It eschews unnecessary embellishments in favor of a sleek, streamlined look and efficient space planning. This home provides a living experience where a family can forge lifelong memories, focusing on family life rather than building maintenance.
