Tucked into the peaceful outskirts of Palma de Mallorca, MB House is a powerful example of modern Mediterranean living, crafted through the artistic synergy of OLARQ Osvaldo Luppi Architects and NEGRE Studio. This residence reflects a harmonious balance of elegance and minimalism, envisioned as a serene retreat where privacy and family life are at the heart of the design.
“The courtyard was central to our vision,” explains Osvaldo Luppi, principal architect at OLARQ. “It’s not just a void—it’s a breathing core that opens the house inward, anchoring every daily ritual in natural light and tranquility.”

An Architecture of Discretion and Expression
From the street, the home asserts itself with a stark, broken-white façade—bold yet refined—offering little hint of the dynamic interior that lies beyond. Once inside, a monumental wooden door gives way to a sculptural staircase of oak and natural stone, the dramatic centerpiece that connects all three levels of the residence.
“This staircase isn’t just a circulation element—it’s the spine of the house, a sculptural piece that sets the tone of material honesty and tactile depth,” shares interior designer Pablo Negre.
The interior unfolds in a rhythmic sequence of solid and void, intimacy and openness. Walls retreat to reveal oversized glass panels that vanish into their frames, dissolving the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The continuity of materials—warm oak, natural stone, and seamless flooring—reinforces this architectural fluidity.

The Courtyard as a Living Heartbeat
At the center of the home is a tranquil courtyard, which serves as both the physical and emotional nucleus. The shared living spaces, including the kitchen and dining area, orient around this space—blurring lines between architecture and nature.
“The home wraps around its own private landscape,” notes project architect Irene Llull. “Each room opens to the courtyard, creating a constant dialogue between indoor life and the Mediterranean garden beyond.”
The landscaping continues this intention: a lush mix of tropical plants, curated terraces, and a sparkling pool that mirrors the horizontal planes of the house. The connection between built form and garden is palpable—every window frames a view; every opening invites breeze and daylight.

Material Integrity and Crafted Details
MB House showcases a meticulous attention to materiality. From the custom floating table—fused from oak and stone and extending directly from the kitchen island—to the textured chalk-painted walls, each surface echoes the project’s earthy elegance.
“Our goal was to create a home that feels grounded,” shares Pablo Negre with Luxury Houses Magazine. “The tactile softness of the chalk-painted walls, the warmth of the wood underfoot, and the coolness of stone—these materials were chosen not just for beauty, but for how they make you feel in the space.”
Even the private bedrooms echo this philosophy—minimalist in aesthetic, but deeply warm in tone, offering restful, silent vistas of the garden.

“We didn’t want to impress with volume, but with stillness,” concludes Osvaldo Luppi. “This is a house that whispers rather than shouts—and in doing so, it becomes timeless.”
