Sri Sri Villa by Ace Associates: A Harmonious Vastu-Inspired Home in the Heart of Gujarat
Designed by Ace Associates, Sri Sri Villa in Salun, Nadiad, Gujarat, is a deeply spiritual, Vastu-compliant residence that seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with ancient design principles. Surrounded by open farmlands and a fruit orchard, this serene retreat serves as a peaceful sanctuary for a family actively engaged in meditation and spiritual practices, inspired by H.H. Sri Sri Ravishankarji.
With complete creative liberty from the client—who previously commissioned Ace Associates for another residence—the architects reimagined a home centered on tranquility, connectivity, and Vastu principles, resulting in a layout that prioritizes sunlight, natural ventilation, and the spatial choreography of movement, light, and rest.
“This project was special not only because of the freedom we were given but because the client’s lifestyle and values encouraged a peaceful, purpose-driven design,” says the principal architect at Ace Associates.
A Site Anchored in Peace and Functionality
Set on a Southwest corner plot, the layout of the villa unfolds thoughtfully: a long driveway on the North, lush landscaping on the East, and a fruit orchard in the North segment—all designed to enhance both visual and spiritual balance.
The central courtyard (Chowk)—a traditional architectural element from Indian homes—is the heart of the villa, surrounded by living spaces that enjoy visual and spatial continuity. Featuring a life-sized artificial tree and a flowing water fountain, the courtyard establishes a calming microclimate and becomes a meditative zone that connects all functions of the home.
“We designed the Chowk not as a decorative element but as the very spine of the home, drawing in light, air, and energy,” notes the design team.

Spiritual Geometry and Open Connections
From the double-height swing court to the tranquil meditation courtyard encircled by a water body, each zone is composed to create layered sensory experiences. The puja room, placed strategically in the northeast in accordance with Vastu, is paired with an open-to-sky courtyard to foster spiritual alignment.
“In Vastu, spatial placement is energy placement,” the architect explains. “The Northeast needed to be the spiritual core of the house—so we designed it with both reverence and openness.”
The formal living area opens to views of the orchard and remains visually separate from the more private zones. Meanwhile, the family living room, dining, and kitchen form an expansive connected zone, further merging with the outdoor semi-covered sit-out for al fresco living.
Material Palette: Natural, Timeless, and Tactile
The residence embraces a minimalist palette. White dominates the exterior for visual clarity and calm, while earthy tones and textures define the interiors—Dholapuri stone, glass partitions, matte-finish flooring, and custom woodwork lend texture and warmth. From tactile carved walls to handcrafted furniture, each material was chosen to harmonize with the home’s function and philosophy.
“The choice of materials—stone, wood, glass—was made with simplicity in mind, yet with layers of experience built into every surface,” says the lead interior designer.

Private Zones with Purpose
Every bedroom is uniquely crafted for its occupant:
- The master suite includes a swing veranda and outdoor shower space.
- The ground-floor bedroom for the elder matriarch is designed with anti-skid flooring and earthy hues for accessibility.
- The first-floor bedrooms for the client and children embrace calming tones and personal preferences, such as pastel tiles, custom study desks, and Juliet balconies with views of the orchard or farmlands.
“Each room tells a personal story. We didn’t just build a house—we built emotional, spiritual, and sensory experiences,” reflects the design team.

An Evolved Vision of Indian Contemporary Living
Sri Sri Villa transcends the traditional definition of a house—it is a reflection of Vastu wisdom, family values, and spatial consciousness. Designed to support meditation, family interaction, and restful solitude, it balances structure with spirit in every detail.
“Our aim was to build a home that feels aligned not just with land and climate, but with the soul of the people living in it,” concludes the architect.
