Uluwatu House was designed by SAOTA is a resort-inspired-home in Bali’s iconic surf destination, Uluwatu. It was named after the location, the design of ‘uluwatu house’ is inspired by the nature and incredible views that surround it. Located on a limestone cliff edge, and as such, the social areas of the house as well as the swimming pool, all have picturesque ocean views.

The architects intends not to impose on the landscape, but instead to create a balance between the built form and the natural environment. Hence, the floors are constructed over several levels, in tune with the contours of the site. A wide set of steps greets residents, proudly announcing the entrance to the building. Once inside, a lounge, living room, a dining room, and a covered terrace form the core of the cellular arrangement, organically interspersed with structural and natural plantings. Also, in one of the ensuite bathrooms, a sunken bathtub is surrounded by a water feature that flows to the outdoors, where an outdoor shower is surrounded by lush landscaping. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors connect the bedrooms with small patios, while inside, the blue accents complement the water views. Expansive glazing and semi-outdoor areas characterize the home.

Without a doubt, Uluwatu Home proves itself to be the picture-perfect image of calmness and cohesion, a serene and elegant place to enjoy the remarkable landscape of Bali.
