Description About The Project

Madre House, designed by Taller David Dana is a single – family project in Mexico City that is perceived as a concrete sculpture sculpting the terrain. It composed of five staggered volumes in response to its sloping topography. Also, create openings and directing views toward the landscape and treetops.

On the other hand, the home features a neutral concrete canvas enriched by an interior color palette and vegetation. As well as wood elements and thoughtful integration of furniture and art curation. The landscape design invites users to contemplate the vegetation and explore the house, with complementary areas for visitors revealed at the lowest point of the terrain.

The home located in a residential neighborhood in the west of Mexico City. The site characterized by its sloping topography, with a difference in elevation of more than 17 meters. This presented a challenge for the architects, who had to find a way to create a home that would be functional and aesthetically pleasing while also respect the natural landscape.

The solution was to design a home that composed of five staggered volumes. Each volume oriented to take advantage of the views and the natural light. The concrete facades are smooth and uncluttered, create a sense of calm and serenity.

Overall, Madre House is a unique and innovative home that merges with nature. It is a testament to the power of design to create spaces that are both functional and beautiful.
