Text by the Architects: This new 1400 sq.m. 3 storey NKU Residence located on a fairly sloped 4100 sq.m. site overlooks Johannesburg East. The design was conceptualised as stacked and intersecting perforated ‘boxes’. Which rest on top of each other and intersecting monolithic concrete clad walls. The architectural material palette reflects this monolithic language through the use of dark grey aluminum perforated screens, and concrete panels that adorn the majority of the architectural feature walls.
