A living gallery of memories and nature

Nestled amid lush greenery, SIRI House by Gla Design Studio is more than just a residence – it is a living gallery of memories and nature. Designed to reflect the lifestyle of its owners, the home is a carefully curated space where travel souvenirs, natural elements, and architectural innovation converge into a seamless and tranquil living experience.

“Our vision was to design a home that evolves with its inhabitants – one that tells their story through architecture and nature,” the architects shared with Luxury Houses Magazine.

An Open Plan for Flexible, Modern Living

At the ground level, an open-plan layout fosters adaptability, ensuring that the home remains functional and fluid. This level embraces modern living while integrating the outdoors into everyday experiences.

✔ A central courtyard, linking the East Wing (living space) and West Wing (service area), serves as a bridge between nature and architecture.
✔ A spacious timber deck with a fish pond and water feature creates a versatile space for social gatherings.
✔ A serene lawn with benches, tucked under the tree canopy, offers a tranquil escape for relaxation and reflection.

“We wanted to create a space where family and friends could interact naturally – where the transition between indoors and outdoors feels effortless,” the architects explained in an interview with Luxury Houses.

The design ensures that even while being enveloped by greenery, the home retains a sense of openness and connectivity.

Private Yet Connected: The Upper Level Sanctuary

On the second level, privacy is paramount. The space is divided into two wings:

✔ One wing for the children, ensuring a sense of independence.
✔ The other wing for the owners, designed as a personal retreat.
✔ A full-height frameless glass bridge connects both wings, harmonizing the courtyard and front yard with the interior.

This architectural approach not only fosters natural ventilation and daylight penetration but also reinforces visual transparency, making nature an integral part of the home.

“Walking across the glass bridge feels like floating above the garden – an experience that truly brings the outdoors in,” the design team remarked.

Bringing Nature Closer: The Green Façade & Landscape Harmony

Nature extends beyond the interior, shaping the façade and landscape design:

✔ A green façade at the front serves as a shading device while providing a picturesque, ever-changing view.
✔ Meticulously selected trees and shrubs, positioned for both aesthetic and functional value, enhance the home’s microclimate.
✔ A frangipani tree at the end of the courtyard, acting as a vertical focal point, creates a sense of enclosure and visual depth from the corridors.

The thoughtfully planned greenery ensures that the residence remains cool and comfortable, reducing reliance on artificial cooling systems.

“The home isn’t just surrounded by nature – it actively interacts with it, creating a symbiotic relationship that enhances the well-being of its residents,” the architects emphasized.

“Every element of SIRI House tells a story—whether it’s a collected artifact from a distant journey, the whispering trees in the courtyard, or the ever-changing patterns of light and shadow,” the designers concluded in their conversation with Luxury Houses Magazine.
