Beachside Modern Family Home designed by Jessop Architects is a stunning modern project, which offers a very spectacular views to the sea and the harbour. This substantial new family home located on a prominent corner site that overlooks the beachside Auckland suburb of St Heliers and out over the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto. Indeed, the crisp white design rises up over three levels and cleverly folds around the exterior spaces. Also, it gives protection from the elements and at the same time focussing the occupants’ view out across the harbour.

Vance Bentley, the project architect from Jessop Architects says the scale of the building, plus its conspicuous site. Being on the corner of one of the main roads in and out of St Heliers that required a render system that would deliver a flawless result. To add contrast and also to ground the building, the pool, spa, feature wall and chimney have all been clad in rough-hewn, stone tiles. Vertical metal louvres also help to alleviate the mass of the home and provide privacy from the street front. The infinity edge pool is designed (and been colour coordinated) to blend seamlessly with the ocean when sitting on the lower level.

As a result, an extensive programme of hard and soft landscaping finishes off this splendid example of a resort-style modern family home.
