Beautiful Mornington Beach Houses in Melbourne was designed by Habitech Systems, has won the Victorian HIA Best Townhouse Of The Year award. This project creates two double story houses on a lot facing Port Phillip Bay and bordering the mouth of a local creek. It utilizes a palette of materials appropriate to their coastal location and surround. Also, it integrates an indigenous coastal landscape to create a building with a sensitivity to its location. In addition, the design seeks to bring foreshore pier proportions and detailing across the road and contribute to the public realm in the way it interacts with the creek mouth.

The eastern house presents an open, transparent faceted eave form to the street, setback behind an upper deck and handrail form projecting out over the lower level. Then, the house’ approach is directly from the driveway crossing which carries into a decked walkway to the front door located to the left of the garages.

Besides, the upper level of the house has a large deck to the north and provides living, dining, kitchen, WC, study niche, as well as a main bedroom, with dressing and ensuite facilities.

Indeed, the western house creates a depth of form in the northern facade, creating depth with windows and decks within a surrounding eave form of faceted timber angling back into the building. The enter is from a separate walkway from the street, with a front door to the west of the garage door, under the shelter of the overhanging upper level.

Besides, the upper level of the house provides living areas centred on a protected inner courtyard deck, with living, dining, kitchen, study spaces opening onto it. Also, the upper level contains a powder room and main bedroom with dressing and ensuite facilities.
