Architecture Design of Grande House

Description About The Project

Grande house, boasting an expansive 56-meter façade, serves as a captivating canvas for architectural ingenuity while addressing challenges related to security and privacy. Eschewing imposing barriers, our approach embraces a nuanced layering of perforated metal plates, sun-screen louvers, stone walls, and abundant greenery to manage sunlight and privacy. Each meticulously designed room encourages natural airflow and optimizes daylight, striking a delicate balance between openness and seclusion.

Innovative solutions infuse the design, combating harsh sunlight through strategically positioned adjustable louvers and greenery. Harnessing prevailing south winds, we seamlessly integrate solar control, landscape design, and ventilation techniques, creating a laid-back living space. Renewable energy sources play a pivotal role, with a splash sprinkler system for water conservation, greywater reuse for garden irrigation, and a strategically placed reflecting pool reducing the need for air conditioning.

Security remains paramount, leading to the development of a multilayer entrance system equipped with smart alarms. Three security checkpoints with alarms and deterrents against climbing ensure comprehensive security. Fire prevention measures are integrated into every room, designed for swift evacuation through the detached layout offering direct access to outdoor spaces.

Sustainability is central to construction techniques, with rainwater harvesting facilitated by a gutterless roof and detached building masses minimizing seepage risks. What sets this project apart is its relaxed ambiance coupled with a steadfast commitment to sustainability. Through thoughtful spatial planning and deep reverence for nature, the Grande house offers an environmentally conscious and effortlessly chic living experience.

The Grande House Gallery:

Text by the Architects:  The Grande house, with its sprawling 56-meter façade, stood as a canvas for architectural creativity while also tackling security and privacy hurdles. Rather than opting for imposing barriers, we took a layered approach to manage sunlight and privacy, employing perforated metal plates, sun-screen louvers, stone walls, and lush vegetation. Each room was carefully crafted to encourage natural airflow and maximize daylight, striking a balance between openness and seclusion. Plus, we wanted to make sure the house looked grand from the get-go, hence the emphasis on horizontal design elements. Our design journey had its fair share of challenges, especially navigating the urban landscape with its privacy, noise, and dust concerns. To tackle these, we came up with a dual-fence strategy: a tall fence facing the slum area and a creatively layered one for the roadside facade, offering security without compromising on aesthetics.
