Architecture Design of Highlands Eichler House

Description About The Project

Highlands Eichler House designed by Gast Architects is a stunning renovation project. Purchase an original Eichler house dating back to 1956, clients enlisted designer’s expertise to enhance the design while maintain its original essence. With a delicate touch, the designer embarked on a renovation journey, meticulously update the kitchen, dining, and living areas. While reconfigure the four bedrooms situated on the opposite side of the atrium. By implement a cream colored terrazzo floor, light ceilings, and a subdued color palette, we achieved a seamless cohesion within the interiors, ensuring that the majestic mountain views take center stage. While the renovation was comprehensive, the essence of the Mid Century style remains, now infused with a modern twist. Before we delve into the captivate ‘after’ photos, let’s take a glimpse into the pre-remodel state of the home, feature dated kitchen and bathroom spaces, concrete floors, and wooden walls.

Conceal a picturesque courtyard, the addition of glass panels provides a delightful surprise, offer glimpses of the inviting front entrance from multiple rooms within the house. Inside, the thoughtful integration of a cream colored terrazzo floor, airy ceilings, and natural wood elements fosters a harmonious unity among the interior spaces. This intentionally muted palette, chosen to enhance rather than compete with the breathtaking mountain views. Hence, allows the design’s true impact to shine through.

The result is a housethat strikes a delicate balance between honor its architectural roots and embrace contemporary aesthetics. The timeless appeal of the Eichler home remains intact. While a fresh modern flair breathes new life into the space. With the renovation complete, the dwelling has been transformed into a haven where past and present seamlessly coexist, offering a sanctuary that celebrates both comfort and style.

The Highlands Eichler House Gallery:

Text by the Architects: Having purchased an Highlands Eichler House that hadn’t been updated since it was built in 1956, our clients hired us to help them improve on the design without leave too many fingerprints. We opened up the kitchen, dining, and living side of the house while reorganize the 4 bedrooms on the other side of the atrium. A cream colored terrazzo floor, light ceilings, natural wood, and a muted palette unify the interiors while allowing the true impact of the design to be the mountain views. Despite undergoing a total renovation, the Mid Century vibe remains present and alive, yet with a more modern flair.
