Architecture Design of Terras House

Description About The Project

Terras House is a stunning single – story home in São Paulo, Brazil, designed by Taguá Arquitetura + Design. The home is notable for its visual and spatial integration, which achieved through a unique hybrid construction system. And a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces.

The architects divided the house into several blocks, each with its own specific function. The intimate area is located on the east side. While the social area is located in the central block. The garage is located on the West side, and the kitchen, service areas, and gourmet area are located in another block further down the lot. These blocks connected by glazed walkways, which offer stunning views of the surrounding gardens.

On the other hand, the facade of the residence is practically completely blind, providing greater privacy for residents. The front wall of the house is clad in soft stone, which complements the wooden lining of the roof to create a composition of natural materials.

Besides, the living room interconnected with the kitchen and the gourmet area through a metal roof with glass closure and slatted brise. Also, the gourmet area has a metal roof, supported by 4 pillars, and completely integrated with the garden and pool. The project as a whole favors open and transparent spaces, precisely so that the residence had spatial and visual integration.

The hybrid construction system allowed for the agility of a large part of the work, in addition to enabling the execution of large spans with slender profiles due to the use of the steel structure in the living room, garage, and gourmet area.

Terras House is a truly unique and innovative home that sets a new standard for single – story living.
