Description About The Project

Casa D31, designed by Raiz Arquitetura, is a modern beach house located on the coast of Riviera de São Lourenço, São Paulo. Tailored for a young couple with two children, this contemporary residence blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings, offering an ideal space for leisure and relaxation with family and friends. The home features a dynamic façade with a striking combination of volumes and natural elements, such as aluminum slats on the second floor, providing privacy without obstructing the view.

The interaction with nature is central to the design. Openings in the social areas frame views of the lush landscaping and the native Atlantic Forest, bringing the rich green tones of the outdoors into the interior living spaces. The L-shaped floor plan extends the social areas into an expansive gourmet balcony, connected to a pool at the rear of the lot. The use of glass throughout the house creates permeability between the indoor and outdoor environments, enhancing the sense of openness.

On the ground floor, the kitchen serves as the heart of the home, bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor living spaces through a well-placed opening. Mimicked doors blend seamlessly with the wooden paneling, maintaining a clean, minimalist aesthetic and camouflaging access to the private rooms.

Extensive glazed panels allow for natural light and cross ventilation, creating a comfortable atmosphere during warmer days. For cooler months, an eco-friendly fireplace is installed in the living room to maintain warmth. The staircase, made of light materials, ascends along the glass façade to the upper floor, which houses five bedrooms, including a master suite with floor-to-ceiling windows offering unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape.

Lighting plays a key role in highlighting the home’s architectural volumes and landscaping elements, with discreet crown moldings and fixtures ensuring functionality and ambiance in each area.
