Architecture Design of 111 House
Description About The Project
111 House project began with the homeowner’s vision of creating a versatile space that could serve multiple functions in a single location. This new space would be perfect for lounging, dining, engaging in various recreational activities with family members, and hosting small gatherings for friends. The old house lacked a dedicated area to accommodate all these activities, leading to the decision to construct a new pavilion by the riverside.
One of the key highlights of this house is its prime location next to a large canal, surrounded by garden-like land that offers a serene and relaxing atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The riverside setting provides picturesque views and cool breezes throughout the day.
The architect’s design concept for the pavilion features a single-story structure with transparent glass walls on all sides, ensuring river views from every part of the building. This design maximizes airflow from the river and incorporates sliding glass doors that open to connect the indoor space with the outdoor riverside area. This seamless transition allows the homeowner to easily switch between indoor and outdoor spaces, particularly useful during parties.
The pavilion’s design emphasizes simplicity to complement rather than overshadow the natural beauty of the garden and riverside surroundings. It prioritizes unobstructed views from both inside and outside, as well as a functional connection between the house and the riverside area. The indoor and outdoor spaces are linked through semi-outdoor areas such as covered walkways, connectors between the old and new houses, and open riverside terraces. A long staircase running parallel to the riverside connects the spaces and serves as a visual guide at night. The riverside area is intentionally left unfenced to integrate the house, riverside space, and canal into a unified whole without clear boundaries.
