Architecture Design of A House in Irus

Description About The Project

A House in Irus is a stunning creation by Dan and Hila Israelevitz Architects, seamlessly blending architecture with the breathtaking surroundings. Boasting uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean and the entire Gush Dan area, this house is a celebration of its elevated location.

The primary design concept revolves around the panoramic setting, with the house strategically oriented to embrace the stunning vistas. The external sitting area seamlessly extends from the internal spaces, leading to a mesmerizing swimming pool that follows the contour lines of the structure.

A unique architectural approach employed by Dan and Hila Israelevitz is the element of discovery and concealing. The façade of the house conceals more than initially meets the eye, with a wooden grillwork covering and revealing different aspects of the structure. The main entrance door is seamlessly embedded into the vertical wooden grill. Also, adding an element of mystery to the overall design.

The first floor features narrow rectangular windows, giving way to a western facet that completely opens up to the panoramic views. The architects play with the concept of “peeping through the keyhole,” employing varying sizes of openings in the pergola structure, enticing guests to explore the space beyond. The regular geometry of the house adds an intriguing element. And creating an irresistible allure for those entering and discovering the hidden gems within. The Irus Heights Residence is a testament to the skillful fusion of architecture and nature, where every detail invites exploration and admiration.

One of the most distinctive features is the play of internal and external spaces, achieved by extending the roof beyond the structure’s contour to create shade in the external sitting area.

Text by the Architects: The main concept of the main structure is the reference to the plot’s location, which is on the highest hill of the neighborhood. The scenery includes uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean and the entire Gush Dan area. Therefore, the house was designed so that it opens to the view. As a consequence, the external sitting area was designed as a direct continuation of the internal space, and beyond that, the swimming pool with the structure’s contour lines
