Architecture Design of Clubhouse

Description About The Project

Clubhouse Residence by FrankFranco Architects, perched atop a hill overlooking the National Golf Club of Canada, is a striking modernist home that redefines opulence through a subtle, site-specific design. Located in an exclusive community where most homes are being replaced with varying architectural styles, this residence stands as a visible testament to purposeful architecture, acting as both gatekeeper and beacon for the estate.

Unlike its neighbors, the house optimizes its plot with a quiet elegance. With few windows facing the street and fortified acoustic insulation, the home provides ultimate privacy. A 130-foot-long anodized aluminum privacy screen runs along the northern wall, controlling sightlines from the main road while diffusing sunlight and wind for the enclosed terrace, offering a serene outdoor experience with expansive framed views.

At the heart of the residence is a sculptural central staircase, designed as an art installation and serving as the primary circulation space. With two landings that invite reflection during the ascent, the white oak handrail and geometric steel guardrails create a fluid, sensual interplay of lines.

While the front of the house is a fortress of privacy, the rear is a transparent oasis. South-facing, floor-to-ceiling glass walls blur the boundary between indoors and the lush natural landscape. Every oversized interior space opens towards the rear, where a cabana, pool, and deck seamlessly integrate with the expansive backyard, offering an ideal space for leisure and entertainment.

The Clubhouse Gallery:

Text by the Architects: Grounded in the roots of modernism, FrankFranco’s Clubhouse is one of the only homes here with visible architectural intent. Overlooking the National Golf Club of Canada, the residence is situated in an older, private community where most of the original homes are now being replaced with varying architectural styles. Perched atop a hill, it is the first house you see when you enter the estate community, it will forever act as gatekeeper and beacon. It though, unlike the surrounding residences, optimizes its plot with a site-specific design that reinterprets opulence as quiet and liveable.
