Architecture Design of Luke House
Description About The Project
Luke House in Indonesia, designed by Budipradono Architects, is a modern interpretation of Balinese ethos. The building’s layout is based on the concept of Dewata Nawasanga, which divides the land into nine parts, and Tri Angga and Tri Mandala, which refer to three-dimensional division vertically. The second madhyama mandala is the main residence, which includes a kitchen, dining area, and guest bedroom, while the madhyama kanista serves as a space for hobbies and recreation. Also, the house’s mass composition arranged with blocks of mass that are piled and arranged to form an interrelated and mutually supporting building.
On the other hand, the house designed to respond to post pandemic living conditions. All rooms receive morning sun. The lavatory designed to be large enough to make residents feel part of nature, with potted plants integrated into the design. Also, the landscape employs the wild concept to accommodate the surrounding natural conditions. Hence, making it appear more natural, with other tropical plants strategically placed throughout the house, such as in corridors and bathrooms.
The swimming pool serves as an organizer, orchestrate the composition of the entire building mass. Exterior and interior elements comprised of porous stone, while concrete and teak wood used for the primary doors. The Northeast side of the building features a modest place of worship. While the Northern portion dedicated to healing, with a small temple for prayer and an area for fitness or yoga. The mass of the house in front contains the service area, kitchen, and parking area. The Luke House Gallery:
Text by the Architects: This house Luke House situated in a breathtaking area near the Uluwatu cliffs in Bali. This land provides a view of the vast ocean, where we can observe the sunset every evening. With relatively rectangular land adjacent to several new villas. Architects must be capable of meeting the necessities of this family. Besides, the family comprised of a couple from two different countries who value Balinese culture and nature.
I felt the need to maximize the existence of a very specific site location on the south side of Bali, where the violent waves from the Indian Ocean crashing against the cliff edge were very exotic. Also combined with the calm horizon where the hot sun abruptly descended and set into the sea. gradually, it became black. The soil in the region of Uluwatu consists primarily of rock and coral, making it simple to attach structures to the rock, but obtaining clean water is extremely difficult.
