Architecture Design of Bal House

Description About The Project

Bal House, designed by REMY Architects, stands out for its seamless integration of water into both its aesthetic and functional design. This contemporary residence embraces the natural landscape of the nearby river, using water not just as a visual element but as a defining feature that shapes the living spaces. The home’s design is a thoughtful blend of exposed concrete, wood, and glass, where the concrete provides a sense of stability, the wood adds warmth, and the glass ensures a visual connection to the outdoors, offering lightness and transparency.

Upon arrival, a tranquil pathway accompanied by carefully landscaped greenery and a reflective water mirror sets the tone for a peaceful experience. Inside, travertine floors stretch from the entrance to the hall, drawing attention toward the breathtaking views of the landscape. The ground floor hosts a spacious social area with a double-height living room as the central focus. This space opens up to the outdoors, framed by a water mirror that enhances the continuity between the home and its natural surroundings.

The upper floor is designed for family living, with a family room overlooking the double-height living area, providing a transition between the master suite and children’s bedrooms. Each room enjoys sweeping views of the river and lush green landscape, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.

At the top level, the house is dedicated to leisure, featuring a spa, playroom, and an interior pool, all framed by panoramic views. This upper floor promotes relaxation and provides a serene atmosphere, completing the experience of living in a home where water serves as the unifying element, flowing from the entrance to the highest level.

The Bal House Gallery:

Text by the Architects: One of the most distinctive aspects of Casa Bal is the integration of water into its design. It not only serves as an aesthetic resource in connection with the natural landscape of the river, but it also actively incorporates itself into the design as a key element that defines the spaces.
