Architecture Design of CC House
Description About The Project
CC House by Fabian Tan Architect nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur is a thoughtfully reimagined corner terrace home. Retaining much of its original structure, the renovation introduces innovative elements to cater to modern living needs while embracing the home’s unique sloping rear garden and split-level layout.
The exterior exudes simplicity, with a pristine white façade and curving high garden walls that wrap around the property. Above these, a curved metal structure hints at the design intricacies within, while maintaining an understated elegance. The entrance leads to a walkway, where a guest bedroom and bathroom are discreetly tucked away. Ascending a few steps reveals an open-plan dining and kitchen area, seamlessly connected to the lush corner garden through expansive sliding glass doors.
The living room emerges as the centerpiece of the design, forming a double-volume space that extends outward into the garden. On the ground floor, the rectangular form appears to float above the garden slope, while a semi-circular volume on the upper floor crowns the structure, visible from the road. The corrugated galvanized metal facade of this upper level is a bold and dynamic feature, integrating two pivoting “moon doors.” These doors, operated by a custom-made lever, allow precise control over light, ventilation, and privacy, transforming the space into an illuminated sanctuary or a secluded retreat.
The first floor houses three en-suite bedrooms, each offering serene garden views. A spiral staircase, discreetly placed in the upper family room, ascends to a rooftop terrace above the semi-circular living room, granting sweeping panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The meticulous attention to detail and the harmony between functional innovation and architectural artistry redefine the essence of modern living in CC House.
