Architecture Design of Siri Residence

Description About The Project

Siri Residence stands as a tropical oasis, located within the tranquility of Karishma hills. This house offers respite from the fast-paced tech city life of Bengaluru. Situated on the outskirts of the Turahalli forest, this residence embraces the natural beauty of the site, adorned with majestic teak, mango, and coconut trees. The design philosophy revolves around creating a seamless extension of the surrounding landscape, blending luxurious living with sustainable practices and a profound respect for the existing vegetation.

Positioned to maximize natural light and ventilation while preserving the integrity of the mature trees, Siri Residence is a testament to thoughtful architecture. An introverted planning approach places built spaces towards the front, while the expansive garden and infinity pool take center stage towards the back. The open-plan layout, guided by Vastu principles, ensures a harmonious flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas. A series of floating steps lead to the entrance platform alongside a lily pond, flanked by existing coconut trees, creating a captivating entrance.

The formal and informal areas of the house are visually connected yet distinctly separated, with a central corridor housing the puja room. Service areas are discreetly tucked away, maintaining the aesthetic integrity. Large sliding glass doors and windows frame picturesque views of the garden and pool, extending living spaces outdoors through generous verandas, decks, and terraces. Biophilic design principles, including natural light, ventilation, and views of greenery, enhance the connection with nature, fostering a sense of privacy and tranquility.

By seamlessly incorporating existing trees into the design, Siri Residence not only celebrates the natural beauty of the Bangalore landscape but also establishes itself as a unique and sustainable living environment. It harmoniously combines luxury, comfort, and a deep connection with nature, offering residents a truly exceptional home

Balconies on the Western side, covered by louvers, emphasize cross ventilation and shading. The staircase area functions as a vent, incorporating hit-and-miss windows for optimal cross ventilation and the release of hot air through the stack effect.

The Siri Residence Gallery:

Text by the Architects: Siri is a tropical oasis cut away from the hustle and bustle of the tech city of Bengaluru. Located in Karishma hills, with a beautiful layout on the fringes of the Turahalli forest, the site was the perfect locale for this with its majestic teak, mango, and coconut trees. These trees and the gentle topography of the site were also the perfect starting point for the design. The house is designed as a seamless extension of the natural landscape – respecting, enhancing, and celebrating the existing vegetation while creating a luxurious and sustainable living environment. The structure is positioned to maximize natural light and ventilation while minimizing the impact on the existing trees.
