An Oceanfront Address on Golden Beach
Located along the exclusive Golden Beach Oceanfront, 101 Ocean occupies one of the most coveted stretches of coastline, where uninterrupted sea views and architectural prestige define the setting. Designed by SDH Studio Architecture + Design, the three-story private residence responds to both the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and the visual complexity of its urban beachfront context.

Rather than echoing the flowing curves of a neighboring high-rise, the house deliberately establishes a contrasting architectural language—one that is crisp, composed, and resolutely contemporary.

“The site demanded a strong architectural voice—one that could stand confidently beside its surroundings without competing with them,” explains SDH Studio in a statement shared with Luxury Houses Magazine.
Framing the Horizon: Architecture and View
The primary design challenge of 101 Ocean was clear: maximize panoramic ocean views while maintaining a sense of privacy and architectural restraint. The solution lies in a carefully calibrated massing strategy, where each level is positioned to capture a different perspective of the sea.

Large expanses of glazing open the residence to the horizon, allowing daylight and ocean views to penetrate deep into the interior. At the same time, solid planes and subtle recesses provide shade and visual balance, preventing the home from feeling overly exposed.

“Oceanfront living is about framing the view, not overwhelming it,” the architects note. “The architecture should act as a lens—directing attention outward while remaining calm and grounded.”
A Deliberate Contrast in Form
While the adjacent high-rise introduces sinuous, curving forms to the streetscape, 101 Ocean responds with a precise, linear composition. Clean horizontal lines and disciplined geometry give the house a sculptural presence, reinforcing its identity as a private residence rather than an extension of the surrounding towers.

This contrast enhances the clarity of both structures, allowing each to exist independently while contributing to a dynamic architectural dialogue along the beachfront.

“Contrast, when handled thoughtfully, brings clarity,” says SDH Studio. “The restraint of the form allows the setting—the ocean, the sky, the shifting light—to take center stage.”

Vertical Living Across Three Levels
Organized across three levels, the residence embraces vertical living as a way to optimize views and spatial experience. Social spaces are positioned to engage directly with the ocean, while private areas retreat into quieter zones of the house.

Terraces and outdoor extensions are layered into the structure, creating transitional spaces that blur the line between interior and exterior living. These elevated outdoor rooms reinforce the home’s connection to its coastal environment without sacrificing privacy.

“Every level offers a unique relationship with the ocean,” the architects explain. “As you move upward, the horizon expands, and the architecture responds accordingly.”

A Contemporary Expression Rooted in Place
Despite its bold presence, 101 Ocean remains respectful of its surroundings. Material choices, proportions, and spatial sequencing are all guided by the coastal context, resulting in a residence that feels both distinctive and site-specific.

The architecture does not attempt to dominate the landscape but instead frames and amplifies it, allowing the ocean to remain the defining element of daily life within the home.
As highlighted by Luxury Houses Magazine, 101 Ocean exemplifies SDH Studio’s ability to merge architectural clarity, environmental awareness, and refined luxury, delivering a beachfront residence that is as enduring as it is expressive.
