Situated along one of Fort Lauderdale’s prized waterfront canals, FT Lauderdale Residence, designed by Choeff Levy Fischman, exemplifies a sophisticated approach to contemporary coastal living. The project responds directly to its setting, embracing water views, tropical light, and the relaxed rhythm of life along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Rather than imposing itself on the site, the residence is carefully composed to sit comfortably within its surroundings, balancing architectural clarity with warmth and livability.
Architecture Guided by Water, Light, and Geometry
The architectural language of FT Lauderdale Residence is defined by strong horizontal lines, layered volumes, and a deliberate interplay of solid and transparent elements. From the street, the home presents a composed and private façade, gradually opening toward the rear to reveal expansive views of the water.
“Waterfront architecture requires restraint as much as openness,” explains Choeff Levy Fischman. “The goal is to frame the views and daylight while maintaining a sense of comfort and privacy.”
Floor-to-ceiling glazing is strategically placed to draw natural light deep into the interior, while overhangs and shaded planes mitigate heat and enhance the home’s climatic performance.
Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living
At the core of the residence is an open-plan living environment that dissolves the boundary between indoors and outdoors. Large sliding glass walls allow the primary living spaces to extend directly onto outdoor terraces, creating a fluid connection between interior comfort and exterior leisure.
