Architecture Design of Calera Creek House

Description About The Project

Calera Creek House, a 6,000-square-foot residence designed by ODS Architecture, is a stunning example of modern living perched atop a hill in Milpitas, California. This two-story home was meticulously planned to cater to the owners’ needs for hosting large business gatherings, providing ample space for family, and ensuring a luxurious master suite on the ground floor for aging in place.

The estate comprises multiple structures, including the main house, a three-car garage with an additional carport for overflow parking, and a separate entertainment and recreation building. These buildings are thoughtfully arranged around a central courtyard, which serves as a hub for gatherings of up to hundreds of guests. The entertainment building is equipped with a wet bar, billiard room, gym, and home theater, offering an all-encompassing space for leisure and social events.

Inside the main house, the ground floor features both formal and informal living rooms, an open kitchen, and the master suite, all designed with expansive windows that frame breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay and a private golf course. The integration of indoor and outdoor living is emphasized with multiple outdoor dining and living areas, creating a seamless flow between the interiors and the surrounding landscape.

High ceilings and extensive glass walls dissolve the boundaries between inside and outside, enhancing the sense of openness while maintaining privacy. The upper floor houses three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a casual TV loft area, offering additional space for the family and guests.

Set on one acre at the crest of a low hill range, the house maintains a discreet profile, carefully positioned to blend with the landscape and avoid visibility from key vantage points, as required by city regulations. Calera Creek House stands as a testament to sophisticated design, combining luxury, functionality, and a deep connection to its natural surroundings.

The Calera Creek House Gallery:

Text by the Architects: A 6,000 square foot 2-story new home complex in Milpitas was designed to facilitate the owners’ large business parties and gatherings, to have rooms for the kids to come back to upstairs, and a ground floor master suite with a huge walk-in closet. Several separate structures make up the dwelling: The main house, 3-car garage with carport for overflow parking, and a separate entertainment and recreation building separated by a courtyard from the main house.
