Description About The Project

Forever House designed by Wallflower Architecture + Design, nestled on an elevated plot that rises 4 meters above street level. Indeed, this house harmoniously navigates constraints and potentials to create a unique house. Slate covered terraced planters compose a robust base platform. While two distinctive cantilevered volumes emerge as the defining wings of the house, extend to the site’s urban set back boundaries.

Indeed, connected by a central circulation core, these volumes encircle a three sided courtyard, cleverly utilize the space between them. A transparent glass elevator and winding staircase gracefully link the various functional areas. The exterior facade boasts a blend of beige and silver travertine, strikingly contrasted by black basalt stone. Horizontal aluminum fins provide both sun shading and a hint of privacy from neighboring properties.

Upon enter the subterranean garage, a cocooned privacy envelops. The transition to the main entrance reveals textured variations in architectural finishes, from cave like stone to polished honed travertine walls and floors. This entryway leads to a wine cellar and a spacious entertainment and games room. Ascending to the next level unveils an expansive view focused on a solitary Frangipani tree within the central courtyard.

Integral to this design, the floating planter in the pool not only adds a visual element. But also illuminates the basement garage below with daylight and natural ventilation. The main living and dining areas occupy the first level, accompanied by the garage and entertainment den below,. Also, offers a communal space for family and friends. The second story houses bedrooms and a private study. While the top floor features an accessible rooftop deck and garden, an open air haven with boundless views of the neighborhood and the distant cityscape.

Text by the Architects: Our clients wanted to build their dream house; a house that would be their definitive family home. It had to have an urban presence while have an open yet secure exterior space with sufficient privacy from the street. With a no expense to be spared mandate, the architect was given a large wish list that included a 6 car garage and a 25m long pool.
