Architecture Design of Broadmoor Contemporary House

Description About The Project

Broadmoor Contemporary House, designed by Silk Cavassa Marchetti Architecture & Interiors, is a striking two-story home that perfectly balances the intimacy needed for two people with the capacity to entertain a crowd. Reflecting the client’s contemporary tastes, the house is a bold architectural statement, featuring a clean, modern design clad in white tile, with contrasting dark grey metal panels and aluminum windows that accentuate the home’s geometric forms.

The home’s architecture is a composition of one- and two-story elements that create a dynamic yet cohesive structure. The two-story section runs parallel to the north property line, while the southern portion angles slightly to the south, allowing the central gallery to expand as it moves eastward. This thoughtful design ensures both privacy and openness, depending on the desired interaction with the surrounding environment.

A tile wall extends from the west elevation, shielding the house and its outdoor living spaces from the street, ensuring privacy. While the street-facing side is kept minimal with limited eye-level glass, clerestory windows have been strategically placed to invite natural light into the home. In contrast, the east and south facades boast floor-to-ceiling windows, providing panoramic views and seamlessly connecting the interior to the outdoor patios, lawns, and pool.

Visitors are welcomed by a towering 12-foot front door clad in textured metal, leading into a two-story gallery. This dramatic entryway is illuminated by a glass wall at the gallery’s end, which backlights a stunning sculpture by Anna Skibska, composed of cascading glass strands that hang from the ceiling of the 20-foot space.

At the heart of the home is the two-story great room, a light-filled space that opens up to the South terrace through oversized glass sliding doors. The room’s centerpiece is a suspended fireplace chimney, clad in polished white textured plaster, which contrasts beautifully with the blackened steel stair handrail and balcony that runs 40 feet long and is just one inch thick.

The interiors are furnished with pieces that have crisp, modern lines, perfectly complementing the home’s architectural style and reinforcing the design’s contemporary intent. Broadmoor Contemporary House is a masterful blend of privacy, openness, and modern sophistication, offering a refined living experience for its residents.
