Architecture Design of CGFR House

Description About The Project

CGFR House by LN Arquitectura perched on a plot within a gated community, takes full advantage of its unique topography and breathtaking views. The house is strategically positioned to embrace the steep incline at the rear, where the North-facing orientation allows for optimal natural lighting and panoramic vistas. This relationship with the site has become the defining element of the architectural design.

The home’s volumetric form is designed to extrude towards the landscape, creating expansive openings that frame the views while minimizing the impact of neighboring structures. Upon entering, residents and guests are greeted by a spacious reception area that includes a garage, entrance patio, and a descending staircase leading to the social areas below. This layout maximizes functionality, providing a clear division between private and social spaces while maintaining a seamless connection with the natural surroundings.

Exposed concrete is used on the main façades, lending the house a contemporary, durable aesthetic. In contrast, natural wood cladding and stone finishes soften the appearance, bringing warmth and a timeless quality to the exterior. The combination of materials ensures that the house blends harmoniously with the landscape while requiring minimal maintenance.

As a professional architect, the client’s appreciation for design and spatial quality is reflected in the home’s flexible layout, which accommodates both family life with his two teenage sons and moments of solitude. The North-facing facades have been thoughtfully opened to maximize the connection with the outdoors, while the East-facing facade features wooden louvers that regulate light and heat, ensuring comfort without sacrificing the serene views.

CGFR House stands out not only for its minimalist, contemporary design but also for its responsiveness to the client’s needs and the surrounding natural context. It is a home that offers both functionality and aesthetic beauty, constantly engaging in dialogue with the landscape.
