A Grand Entrance and Design Philosophy

Goyals Residence in Panchkula stands as a testament to modernity and opulence, with its design reflecting the personality and needs of the owners. As one approaches the house, the double-height entrance, framed by a striking metal trellis, creates an immediate sense of grandeur. This trellis, extending outward, not only serves as a design statement but also allows ample natural light to flood the interior, enhancing the home’s welcoming aura. The base grey finishes on the exterior walls provide the perfect contrast, allowing the double-height white stone volume to shine and take center stage.

“The grand double-height entrance was designed to create an immediate impression of scale and elegance,” says the architect from Luxury Houses Magazine. “We wanted to ensure that the transition from the outside to the inside is striking yet seamless, using design elements that allow light to filter through the space naturally.”

Balancing Nature and Modern Design

The house is thoughtfully designed to create a strong connection with nature, as evidenced by the wooden extensions that contrast the cool grey verandahs. These verandahs open up to views of lush greenery, acting as portals between the indoors and outdoors. This connection between nature and architecture is further enhanced by a careful layout that places emphasis on the serenity of the surroundings.

“Nature plays a central role in the design of this villa,” the architect notes. “The contrast of materials, such as the warmth of the wood against the cool tones of the stone, mirrors the interaction between the structure and its natural setting.” The exterior features a harmonious blend of materials that work together to create a balanced, tranquil environment, making it feel like an extension of the lush gardens surrounding it.

A Functional Yet Elegant Layout

The villa’s layout is divided into distinct zones, with the entrance opening up into a central spine that ensures proper ventilation and gives a sense of scale. The central corridor runs through the public zones, with the private areas placed thoughtfully on the ground floor, providing privacy and functionality. The first floor is dedicated to rooms and lounges, while the second floor features a terrace garden and party area, allowing for both intimate and social spaces.

“The flow of the spaces within the home was designed to balance public and private zones,” shares the architect with Luxury Houses Magazine. “Each area serves its function while also contributing to the overall open, airy atmosphere of the house.”

Light and Space Integration

One of the defining features of the design is the incorporation of light pockets, which create interactive zones and link the different levels of the home. These carefully placed openings bring in light at various points, creating a sense of movement and change throughout the day. Each room within the house unfolds a new experience, with spaces transforming according to the lighting conditions and the way light interacts with the materials used.

“Light is an essential component of the house,” says the architect. “We used it strategically to evoke different moods and to enhance the connection between spaces. Whether it’s diffused light in the lounges or more direct light in the private areas, each room offers a distinct experience.”
