Folding House designed by AR Design Studio is a highly contemporary dream home for a retired client and son. This house located prominently among the green color of nature surrounded. Also, it shows the stunning River Avon views from all three levels. The folding design incorporates a blend of indoor and outdoor living spaces that extend out into the landscape and beyond. Besides, it is inspired by the site context and defining character, the intention is to minimize the impact on the location and surrounding scenery by embedding the structure in its setting.

The house includes three floors with only one floor is situated above ground. The other two floors stagger down the site according to the gradient of the landscape. From outside, the folding form will be clad in a long thin grey tile with all horizontal and vertical planes using the same material. Once inside, the inserted timber elements offer a more private and sheltered experience. So it aims to imitate objects such as trees and other land obstacles along the pathway. In addition to this, the layout is perfect arrangement with all interior ideas from living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Surely, it is a truly dream house for the retiree who want to enjoy the endless beauty of nature and each peaceful moment.

Folding House for Retiree with Stunning River Views by AR Design Studio — The concept began with an existing ‘zig zag’ pathway. Also, this path continued in the form of a folding, solid ribbon, creating habitable spaces between the plans.

Thousands of trees surround the house, making it seem to be embedded in the landscape. So, it makes the house prominent among the nature.

Indeed, the house includes 3 floors, but only the highest floor is over the ground. From this location, it offers a very stunning views of River Avon. That’s why this house is a dream house for retiree who wants to enjoy the endless beauty of nature.

The garden level floor comprises a mixture of bedrooms and living accommodation that spill out onto a generous terrace and path down to the river.
