This unique project delicately balances the preservation of majestic mango trees with the creation of a distinctive architectural rhythm. Stone-clad walls, bathed in the elegance of Kurnoor grey limestone, define space and welcome visitors, creating an intimate connection with the orchard’s natural beauty.

Indeed, the architectural language, a fusion of steel, timber, glass, and stone, resonates with the hues of the orchard, creating a harmonious interplay between the man-made and the natural.

The deliberate placement of stone walls, the thoughtful use of materials, and the strategic positioning of courtyards reflect an artful orchestration of design elements.

Situated amidst a thriving mango orchard, this residence delicately honors the majestic trees while establishing a distinctive architectural cadence.

The Orchard House Gallery:

Text by the Architects: Set in a dense grid of mature mango trees, the project reflects the dichotomy of respecting the territory belonging to the tree trunks and it’s foliage along with inscribing our own rhythm on the ground plane. A series of stone clad walls, scraping just below the tree canopy level, are used as a design tool to not only spatially define the three courts but also to engage directly with the building. Clad in rough Kurnoor grey limestone, the monochromatic walls help establish multiple thresholds for the visitors. A consistent tectonic of steel, timber, glass, and stone, along with grey walls seems nestled within the deep colored trunks and leaves of the orchard.
