Glen Villa, a testament to ARRCC’s design finesse in Cape Town, South Africa, stands as a contemporary masterpiece seamlessly blending with its natural environment. The house, situated at the base of Table Mountain, received a stunning transformation by ARRCC, marrying new elements with the original architecture in a way that elevates its connection to the landscape.
The additions by ARRCC, including the creation of a new garden pavilion and the meticulous conversion of an upper-level bedroom into a luxurious penthouse suite, exemplify the sophistication and thoughtful approach embedded in their work. The design not only complements the existing structure. But also enhances its powerful relationship with the picturesque surroundings and the breathtaking city views.
ARRCC’s priority to capture the essence of the juxtaposition between modern architectural forms. And the organic presence of the mountainside reflects an ‘urban resort’ ethos. The pavilion design, an extension of the main house, intertwines seamlessly. Also, provide enclosed and outdoor spaces, such as a bar, dining area, and lounge. While integrating bespoke elements designed in collaboration with skilled artisans like Martin Dollar and metal smith Barry Ashmole.
The interiors of Glen Villa radiate an aura of barefoot luxury, with ARRCC’s Afro-minimalist approach evident in the utilization of raw concrete ceilings, stone walls. And a balance of smooth marble, bleached timbers, and brushed metals. The expertly layered textures, muted color palette, and glamorous accents intertwine to create a space that exudes both sophistication and comfort.
ARRCC’s dedicated approach to every detail, from custom bed units to carefully curated interiors. Also creates a space that beautifully encapsulates a contemporary African design narrative at Glen Villa. This residence not only celebrates luxury but also presents an inspiring fusion of nature and modern living, a true reflection of ARRCC’s exceptional design ethos.
