Architecture Design of Star House

Description About The Project

Star House designed by Israelevitz Architects redefines modern luxury with its striking geometric facade and sculptural presence. Designed for a family of five, this extraordinary home is a fusion of art and engineering, where abstract forms and intricate detailing converge to create a truly one-of-a-kind residence. Its dramatic three-dimensional front facade, composed of sharp-edged polygons, forms a mesmerizing star-like structure that captivates and intrigues, making it impossible to overlook.

Beyond its bold exterior, the residence is a masterful composition of concealed and open spaces, offering both grandeur and intimacy. The home’s design was driven by a dual vision: to craft an architecturally groundbreaking structure while ensuring a warm, family-centric environment. The layout balances private retreats for each family member with expansive shared spaces, placing entertainment and hospitality at the core. At the heart of the residence lies a lush internal courtyard, featuring an expansive swimming pool and a fully equipped outdoor lounge, fostering a seamless connection between the living areas.

Inspired by childhood memories of glowing windows glimpsed through tree branches, the facade serves as a metaphor for family warmth and unity. Delicate slits in the metal lattice allow light to filter through, subtly revealing the life within. This dynamic interplay of shadow and illumination transforms the house into a living sculpture that evolves throughout the day. Inside, the polygonal motif extends into various design elements, reinforcing the architectural language in both subtle and striking ways.

Access to the home is a theatrical experience in itself. A pathway along a reflection pool, punctuated by floating concrete walkways and islands of sculpted greenery, guides visitors toward the imposing glass entrance. The focal point of arrival is a monumental 4.5-meter-high entrance door, crafted from blackened metal plates, standing as the sole opaque element amidst the transparency of the facade. This dramatic interplay of light, materiality, and space encapsulates the essence of Star House—a residence that is as poetic as it is technically groundbreaking.

The Star House Gallery:

Text by the Architects: You must admit that you’ve never encountered a house quite like this one designed by Dan and Hila Israelevitz – owners of Israelevitz Architects – in Savyon, a local council in the Central District of Israel. The geometric facades, dramatic planning where the hidden surpasses the visible, and the refined design that echoes the architectural concept, transform this living environment into something fantastic and extraordinary.
