Architecture Design of White House

Description About The Project

White House, designed by Dipen Gada and Associates, is a tranquil haven located near the airport in Vanana, Porbandar. This exquisite residence was conceived during the Covid-19 pandemic for a marine rescue operations and engineering professional. The client’s vision included a soothing, functional, and parent-friendly home, frequently visited by his in-laws.

Situated on a 65,000 sq. feet site, the design incorporates three bedrooms, large openings, and a strong connection to nature. A long driveway leads to a welcoming porch with a striking white wall mass. Inside, the house features a high-ceiling living room, a dining and family living area, a cozy covered deck, and an expansive deck with a long swimming pool. These spaces seamlessly integrate with each other and the surrounding nature, providing a continuous visual connection.

The swimming pool, placed between the tall living room and the master bedroom, bridges the living-dining area and the garden. The pool reflects the sky, creating a mesmerizing visual effect against the backdrop of white walls and fluted plaster. Adjacent to the formal living area is a unique circular sunken space, perfect for outdoor seating.

The three bedrooms include a master bedroom with views of the pool and front garden. The other two bedrooms, located next to each other, each feature an alcove and a deck that opens into a serene Zen garden at the back. Bathrooms are designed to be clean and minimalistic, with skylights and open showers enhancing the space. The master bedroom’s bathroom offers a spa-like ambiance with soothing whites and blues.

The landscape design echoes the home’s simplicity, with a vast green lawn adorned with indigenous plants and wild grasses, creating a seamless blend of nature and architecture.

Text by the Architects: The client, a marine rescue operations and engineering professional, chose a location near the airport in Vanana, Porbandar. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they discussed various design concepts and plans for their house. The site, which measures 65,000 sq. feet, required three bedrooms, large openings, and a green connection. The client wanted a soothing and functional house that was also parent-friendly, as it would be used by his in-laws frequently.
